　　北京华文学院地处北京市的中心位置，距天安门广场5公里。学院拥有一支热爱华文教育事业、熟悉华裔学生特点、教学经验丰富的专业教师队伍。学院利用北京地区的语言文化环境优势，形成了课堂教学与社会实践相结合的教学特色。学院备有先进的电化教学设施，藏有丰富的报刊书籍及多媒体影像资料。文体设施有室外运动场和健身房、台球室、乒乓球室等室内活动场所。学生宿舍为双人标准间，宿舍楼内生活设施齐备，可以满足学生的日常生活需要。

历史上的北京华文学院

　　学院每两周组织一次市内游教活动，游览北京的世界文化遗产等名胜古迹，参观工厂、农村、学校。每学期组织一次为期10天的京外游教活动，赴四川、上海、福建等地进行语言实习。每学年定期举办拼音竞赛、百词竞赛、演讲比赛、作文展览、摄影展览、体育比赛、纪念册制作等第二课堂教学活动，中秋节、圣诞节学院举行大型师生联欢会。

A SURVEY OF THE COLLEGE

Beijing Chinese Language College is under the direct control of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, PRC. Beijing Chinese Language College, which grew out of Beijing Overseas Chinese continuation school and Beijing Chinese Language and Culture School, was founded in 1950. The purpose of the foundation of the College is to provide facilities for overseas Chinese and foreign students who want to learn Chinese language and culture. It also undertakes the task of improving communications between China and other nations. For 56 years since its founding, it has attracted numerous students from abroad. It has trained some 50,000 international students from 54 countries and regions in the world.

Beijing Chinese Language College (BCLC) is located at the center of Beijing, only 5km from Tian’anmen Square. It has a strong teaching faculty, who are devoted to the cause of Chinese teaching. They are familiar with the needs of overseas Chinese and have rich experiences in teaching. By making best use of the language and culture environment in Beijing, BCLC has formed its teaching characteristics which combine class teaching with social activities . In order to raise the standard of teaching, advanced audio-visual educational aids are used while a wide variety of books, magazines, newspapers and other resources are also prepared for students. Furthermore, there are playgrounds, gymnasia, billiard rooms, and table-tennis rooms on the campus for students’ extracurricular time. All dormitory are double standard rooms which are comfortably prepared and can meet the students' needs for daily life..
 Every two weeks, excursions will be organized for students to visit scenic spots and historical sites as well as factories, the countryside and schools in Beijing. Every semester, there will be a ten-day-long visiting-teaching activity for students. At that time students will have the opportunity to go to other cities and places like Sichuan, Shanghai and Fujian to practice their Chinese. There are many activities every academic year to improve students’ Chinese, such as Pinyin Competitions, word competitions, speech contests, composition shows, photo exhibitions, sports games, album making, etc. At some festivals like the mid-autumn day and Christmas, get-togethers and social evenings will also be held.

Overseas Chinese and non-Chinese students are welcome to learn Chinese in our college.
