Guide to Long-term Enrollment at Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College

How Do I Choose A Major?

If you want to learn Chinese and do not have any diploma requirements, you can choose our Chinese Language Program. Students of all levels from beginner to advanced are welcome to enroll for 6 months up to 3 years with flexible schedules.

If you want an undergraduate degree, the following majors are available:

Bachelor Degree Program in Overseas Chinese Education: The recruitment targets are foreign high school graduates. It aims to cultivate talents who can comprehensively master the professional knowledge of the Chinese language and the skills of Chinese language teaching and be engaged in Chinese language education after graduation. The academic system is 4 years (1 year at Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College and 3 years at Jinan University in Guangzhou). Upon graduation, a bachelor's degree in Chinese Language Education from Jinan University can be obtained.

BLCC-JNU 1+4 Program (Multiple Majors):

The academic system is 5 years. In the first year, students study Chinese and general courses at Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College. After passing HSK Level 5, they will study professional courses at Jinan University for the following 4 years. For the enrollment major catalogue, please refer to the "Prospectus for Enrolling Foreign Students of Jinan University". Upon graduation, a bachelor's degree certificate and a bachelor's degree certificate of Jinan University will be issued.

 

BLCC-Huaqiao University 1+4 Program (Multiple Majors):

The academic system is 5 years. In the first year, students study Chinese and general courses at Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College. After passing HSK Level 5, they will study professional courses at Huaqiao University for the next 4 years. For the enrollment major catalogue, please refer to the "Prospectus for Foreign Students of Huaqiao University". Upon graduation, a bachelor's degree certificate and a bachelor's degree certificate of Huaqiao University will be issued.

 

How Do I Apply?

Please visit https://apply.bjhwxy.com , register an account using your email address. Log in and click on “Online Application” to select your desired major. Fill out your application form, and submit scanned copies of your passport or other required documents. Wait for approval.

 

Can I Apply For Scholarships?

We offer an automatic scholarship worth RMB2000 yuan for each new student (excluding those who studied less than one semester). In addition, you can also apply for our Scholarship for Excellent New Students through our online application system. The amounts awarded range from RMB5000 yuan (First Prize), RMB3000 yuan (Second Prize) to RMB1000 yuan (Third Prize).

 

After Receiving Admission Letter, How Can I Apply For A Visa?

You may apply for a student visa at the nearest Embassy/Consulate General of China. If you received JW202 Form together with admission letter, you may use it together with admission letter to apply for X1 visa. If only admission letter is received, you can apply for X2 visa.

 

How Do I Register At School?

We provide free airport/station pick-up service upon your first arrival. You need to submit pick-up service application through our online application system before departure. Please keep contact information provided by us carefully.

 

What Fees Will I Need To Pay?

An RMB800 deposit is required during application which is refundable if withdrawn. Other fees include: registration fee (RMB300), tuition fee (RMB9600 per semester), accommodation fee (RMB1800/four-bed room, RM6800/two-bed room), textbook fee (RMB400 per semester) and bedding expense (RMB 320).

Additionally, you may need extra money for physical examination (RMB400), visa extension (RMB550 for extension within one year or RMB950 for extension beyond one year), medical accident insurance (RMB400/half-year or RMB800/year) and daily expenses.

To avoid unnecessary trouble, it is recommended that you exchange enough Renminbi before coming to China or open a savings account at local Chinese banks (such as Bank of China or Industrial and Commercial Bank of China).
